Timeline of the AIDA project: association established, raising resources, technical facility, training centre
First milestone reached. The next ones depend on the resources we gather.

AIDA is now officially established

AIDA – AfriTech Inclusion Digital Academy was entered in the register of associations at the Strasbourg judicial court on 30 July 2026. The association now exists as a legal entity.

The court approved the purpose set out in our statutes: to promote social inclusion, digital education, vocational training and the development of technology skills in Africa and internationally.

Why this milestone matters

Until now, the project rested on intentions and on a group of committed people. It now rests on a recognised structure, able to act in its own name.

AIDA falls under the local law of Alsace-Moselle, which differs from the 1901 law applying elsewhere in France. One feature of this framework matters here: entry in the register grants the association full legal capacity. In practical terms, AIDA can now open a bank account, sign agreements, receive grants, accept donations and bequests, and hold assets in its own name.

That is precisely what was missing to turn offers of support into firm commitments.

What this changes for those who want to help

Offers of support can now be formalised: partnership agreements, equipment donations with proper traceability, commitments from companies or institutions. Any organisation that was waiting for the structure to exist legally before committing no longer has a reason to wait.

Next steps

Nothing has opened yet, and this milestone alone does not change the timetable. The project still depends on the resources gathered. The priorities remain as announced: assembling the start-up technical facility, bringing together the funding and equipment needed, then beginning construction of the centre in Rufisque.

This page will be updated at every milestone reached.
